1. Getting Started
-
1. Okay I found your URL and I can see your site. What now?
When you first visit the site you are a simple guest. You have to register in order to be able to do most things. The great council is currently using Wowstead as a site host. By registering you are basically making a Wowstead account.
That means that with the same account you can also visit other guild sites that are using Wowstead. That also means that if you got an existing Wowstead account you can use that to log in.
-
2. How do I register? Can't find it anywhere!
You have to click the "Register" link which is located to the upper right of the page. After you complete the form and create your account you have to log in to the site by clicking the "Log In" link next to the register link.
After you create and log in with your account have to add a character on it. You may add unlimited characters under one Wowstead account.
-
3. How do I add a character to my Wowstead account?
After you log in with your Wowstead account a popup window will prompt you to go to the character management and create your character. This character has to be an existing WoW character even if it's level 1. (If for some reason it fails log out and then log in again)
It's better if you post and do action as your main character but if you have problems adding your character (because it was in an old account and you forgot your password for example) feel free to make an alt and add this one to your Wowstead account.
A character must always be selected in order to do actions in the site. You can select your character (after you create him) by clicking on the "character management" link on the top right of the site

4. Okay I like your guild. Where do I sign?
As you already know in order to officialy join a guild you have to make an application. Just click 'Join the guild' from the site menu and make yours. A copy of your application will be made in the guild forums. Forums -> Applications. There you can see what other members will reply to you. You should not take into concideration the posts that members post only the officer replies.
You can quickly check your application status by clicking 'Application status' from the guild menu. The status can be 'Pending' which means that officers havent' decided yet or 'Rejected' or 'Accepted'. If you wanna see the reason of your acception/rejection you have to visit the Forums as described above.

-
2. What are those activity checks?
As it's already explained, members visiting the website is vital for the success of the guild. Of course there will always be members that do not realise that, or don't just do not care.

In general you are free to take any item from the guild bank that will help you, especially for raids. Just don't overdo it. Also if you think that this item is kinda 'valuable', better ask an officer or the GM before you take it.
4. Forums
-
1. Why can't I see some of the forums?
Some forums may be restricted to certain guild ranks, like for example the Officer forum. If you are a member of this guild and you can't see any forums, make sure you are logged in and you have a character selected. After that you will be able to see the forms that are available for your guild rank. If you are new to the guild then please follow the Getting Started FAQ.

That's really easy. Just click on the sword icon then a new window will pop up. Type the name of the item you want or part of it's name on the search text area and click 'Go'. After that select your item from the list of results. This is an example of how it will look.

Adding a link was never simpler. Just type a word you want to be the name of your link, for example 'Wowwiki' Then highlight it using your mouse. After you highlight it you will notice that the 'link' icon in the post tools is enabled. 5. Roster
-
1. I'm shown as the wrong level on the roster. Why?
The roster module updates every 24 hours from the Blizzard armory. Sometimes guild roster details update slower than character profiles. Try viewing your character profile (click your name anywhere you see it displayed) to force a more recent update!
-
2. My spec shows as unknown and/or my professions are incorrect!
The daily automatic updates to the roster only fetch basic details about your guild members, such as names and ranks. In order for talents, professions, gear and more to update, a site administrator must perform a full forced update. Sometimes viewing the character's profile page can update these details as well.
-
3. What do the expressions on the roster history mean?
When you view the roster history on your guild roster page, you'll see one of four words associated with a character and date.
Added means that the person was added to the roster as a new listing. Removed means the exact opposite; they were deleted from the roster and have lost all restricted site access. If the expression is joined, that character had verified themselves as a member of the guild in order to see restricted areas. Quit indicates that they've revoked their membership on the website, removing their special access levels.
